The Institution was transformed and the Social Work Section established in October 2006 to handle surveys on inmates and those in demarcated confinement, and introduce professional social work skills for conducting correction need evaluation and classified correction survey for new inmates. These will serve as the reference for counseling and education in the Institution, and the basis for adapting to social life upon their release.

To meet the inmates’ needs for practical resources, the Institution transfers them to the after-care association or other organizations.
